Rib-breaking KO came because Stephen McAfee was “bursting for a piss”

A call of nature turned Stephen McAfee into a beast on Saturday night.

The Sallynoggin fighter took to the ring for just the second time as a pro on the Celtic Clash 3 card and was hoping to bank some valuable rounds.

However, a sudden urge to relieve himself forced him to bring the fight to a premature end. The Dublin lightweight ditched the game plan and went all out to end the proceedings as quick a possible.

A massive early body assault left Attila Horvath in the hospital with broken ribs and ensured McAfee his second successive stoppage win,

“I wanted to get more time in there to be honest. I would have liked to go at least three before taking him out, but to be honest just as we were leaving the changing room I was bursting for a piss so I had to get him out early. I sped it up a bit and that’s the truth.”

“I wanted to stay in as long as possible and play around get more ring experience, but honest truth I was dying for a piss.”

While it came earlier than desired, McAfee does know the value of a stoppage win and is aware he has helped himself stand out from the crowd with back to back KOs.

“You always have to try and stand out and it’s great to get the stoppage for the fans. You are thinking you want to steal the show a bit, but rounds are important too.”

“I was hoping for the best of both worlds a few rounds and a stoppage then. I think after two knockout wins people will start to take a little more notice of me.”

Like so many of the Celtic Clash 3 participants McAfee is hoping to return to the ring in November and would like to progress to six rounds if possible.

“Hopefully next time I will have a six rounder and a step up in opponent. If the next show is November hopefully I will be on that and hopefully it will be more of the same, maybe just a bit longer.”
