Return to the ring confirmed for TJ Doheny

Portlaoise bantamweight TJ Doheny [16(12)-0] is to return to the ring next month.

The 30 year old will be back in Australia following two fights in Boston on Murphys Boxing cards.

‘The Power’ will box on Friday May 12th at the North Sydney Rugby League Club on a bill which also includes Galway lightweight Gearoid Clancy.

The fight will be a stay-busy affair for Doheny who has returned Down Under for the birth of his child.

Assuming all goes well in five weeks time, the Laois puncher will be back Stateside in the near future as he closes in on a world title shot.

Doheny is currently ranked #5 with the WBA, #4 with the IBF, and #13 with the WBO, all at super bantamweight.

In his most recent contest, in October, the Irishman headlined the annual Murphys Boxing ‘Monster Brawl’ card at the Melrose Memorial Hall, stopping Ernesto Guerrero in the second round.
