RESULTS: The Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month – Winter 2017/18

Following four days of voting and the biggest number of votes yet, The Liffey Crane Hire Boxer of the Month for the Winter period has been chosen.

Scheduling dictated that the months of December 2017 and January 2018 were put together for a bumper prize.

So without further ado, the award goes to:

Kevin Sheehy
The Limerick heavyweight has won two Irish titles in the past two months and has been, by a landslide, voted your top boxer for the Winter period.

The St Francis fighter was one of the most impressive fighters at the National Senior (Intermediate) Championships, culminating with a win over Jake Patterson of Crumlin in the final.

Still only 19 years of age and now down at 91kg, Sheehy would go on to add the U22 crown last month with an impressive win over another Dubliner, Kilnamanagh’s James Clarke.

The aggressive and sharp puncher, who has come on leaps and bounds over the past few years, is now about to attempt to win a third national title in three months – and this time it’s the big one.

Sheehy begins his campaign for the National Elite Senior title next weekend, taking on last year’s runner-up Kenny Okungbowa in the semi-finals and hoping to become the youngest Irish heavyweight champ since Con Sheehan.
