RESULTS: The Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month – JULY

Following four days of voting, The Liffey Crane Hire Boxer of the Month for July has been selected.

A close run vote, one fighter stood out following a huge performance.

So without any further ado, the award goes to:

A 40-38 four-round points win over Radoslav Mitev may not seem overly impressive on the face of it but, in context, it was a big night for the Limerick light middleweight.

McCormack suffered bereavement in the build-up to the fight, with his best friend and father-in-law both passing away in the days leading up to the bout.

However, refusing to withdraw from the fight, McCormack would bring a large crowd across the country to the ‘Celtic Clash 6’ card in Dublin and would put on a career-best performance.

Facing his toughest opponent to date in Mitev, ‘The G-Train’ put in a controlled performance, boxing at length, dropping the Bulgarian, and scoring an emotional win.

Coming in second was Katie Taylor who defended her WBA and IBF lightweight titles in London with a dominant third-round stoppage of Kimberly Connor, while Carl McDonald came in third following his BUI Celtic featherweight title win over Colin O’Donovan.
