STEVEN Donnelly will not defend his Welterweight National Elite Senior title this year.

The Commonwealth Games medalist won his first Senior title last year and became one of the stories of the 2014 competition beating Olympian Adam Nolan in the final.

Donnelly will return to the ring on finals night but because he is unable to compete in the prelimanry rounds will fighting for Poland Hussers in the World Series of Boxing and not in the National Stadium.
