Red Corner Promotions back O’Brien to “prove to everyone just how good he is”

Craig O’Brien [5(0)-0] will prove just how good by managing a significant step up and winning his first title at the National Stadium on October 7th, according to Red Corner’s Jonathan Graham.

The Iron takes a step up in level and rounds when he fights former Welsh middleweight champion Lee Churcher for the vacant BUI Celtic light middleweight strap.

Churcher brings more experience to the table, but Red Corner are confident their man is the better operator.

Indeed, Graham claims O’Brien’s last two displays proved to the team that they have a ‘stand out performer’ on their hands and prompted the promotional company to secure him a title fight on their fourth promotional instalment.

“Craig has proven himself to be the stand out performer on his last two outings,” Graham told Irish-Boxing.com.

“This fight is a real step up for him but one we’d no hesitation in making as he’s going to prove to everyone just how good he is.”

While most agree its the biggest fight of O’Brien’s career to date, promoter Graham argues the same could be said of the Dub’s opponent, who knows it could be his last stab at the big time.

“The teak tough former convict won’t be coming to roll over. He knows beating Craig gives him one last shot at the big time. This is arguably the most important fight of his career.”
