Ray Moylette aiming to follow the American Dream

Ray Moylette [11(4)-0] believes Gary O’Sullivan has shown the American Dream is possible and is keen to follow in the Cork fighter’s footsteps.

Since teaming up with Murphys Boxing, ‘Spike’ has fought 10 times Stateside and once in Canada.

After impressing on a number of Murphys shows and working his way on to American TV, O’Sullivan has secured a Golden Boy contract, will fight on the undercard of Gennady Golovkin vs Alvarez II, and is fancied to fight the winner should he get past a “big name”.

The Mahon 33-year-old looks set to for a sensational Indian Summer and Moylette, who hopes to win the Irish title before the year is out, believes the road taken by his gym-mate gives him big-time American hope.

The Assassin Promotions fighter along with Spike and heavyweight Niall Kennedy is a Murphys favourite and is confident he can make the most of his regular appearances Stateside to work toward massive fights.

“Spike has led the way for myself and the other boxers in Celtic Warrior Gym and Murphy’s boxing,” Moylette told Irish-Boxing.com. 

“I’ve had great pleasure fighting on cards with Spike over the last year and that has moulded the way for me. The opportunities are endless and Murphy’s boxing are raising the stakes.”

“Danny O’Connor fights for a world title next week and Spike will get his chance to make history in Vegas. Along with all that Murphy’s have the New England heavyweight champ in Niall Kennedy and a young and reckless Mayo man who is willing to do anything to get to the top.”

Moylette last month scored his seventh win in America. ‘Sugar Ray’ outpointed Daniel Sostre is New Hampshire and claims he has been made feel more than at home by a growing fanbase on the U.S. East Coast.

“I love fighting over in Boston and America,” he stated.

“The fans are unbelievable and the exposure is crazy. I meet new fans every time I leave the ring.”

“I have my loyal fan base who travel over from Ireland which is impressive in its own right. I have a great following in Boston and it’s growing month by month. I describe Boston as home with better weather. That’s exactly what Boston means to me.”
