Rangey Wildcard added to Last Man Standing line-up

A new fighter has been added to the Ireland’s Last Man Standing line-up and looks to be a real wildcard.

The eight-man single-elimination middleweight tournament takes place this Saturday [March 3rd] in the National Stadium in Dublin, with participants looking to claim the €25,000 top prize for winning three three-round fights.

The line-up for the competition is in the process of being finalised and it has today been confirmed that rangey prospect Jack Cullen [9(3)-0] will participate, coming in as a late replacement following a number of pull-outs.

The 24-year-old hails from Little Lever in Bolton and will be making a big step-up in class in the tournament which will be shown live in its entirety on Irish terrestrial television via TG4.

‘Little Lever’s Meat Cleaver’ is eligible for entry due to his Irish ancestry.

At six-foot-three-inches tall, Cullen will have a size advantage over his seven competitors and comes to the Prizefighter-style night sharp and in shape having stopped Alistair Warren in the fourth of a scheduled eight-rounder just two days ago.

Cullen joins JJ McDonagh, Chris Blaney, Vladimir Belujsky, Roy Sheahan, Gerard Healy, Nick Quigley, and Bernard Roe in the line-up for the competition.

The Red Corner and Assassin card also features an Irish light middleweight title fight between Craig O’Brien and Jay Byrne, as well as a four-round all-Irish lightweight clash between Victor Rabei and Mark Morris.
