Punditry team confirmed for Ray Moylette Homecoming TV card

An extremely strong broadcast team has been confirmed for next Friday’s Ray Moylette ‘Homecoming’ card.

The Mayo lightweight headlines a card at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar on December 7th, taking on Christian Uruzquieta in a vacant WBC International title fight.

The fight will be shown live on TG4, with the Irish-language terrestrial station providing three hours of coverage, from 8:30pm to 11:30pm.

Like the Ireland’s Last Man Standing card in Dublin in March, which was also broadcast by TG4, presenter for the night will be Máire Treasa Ní Dhubhghaill while lead commentator will be Seán Bán Breathnach.

The night’s action will be covered mainly in English but there will also be plenty of Irish, with Ní Dhubhghaill and Seán Bán blending the two like during Last Man Standing and TG4’s rugby coverage.

This afternoon the panel of pundits was announced, with a vast array of Irish boxing talent being lined up to provide insight on the night’s action.

Recent bantamweight champion Ryan Burnett, in his first TV engagement since his gut-wrenching corner retirement loss to Nonito Donaire last month, will be on co-comms for the night..

Olympic silver medallist Kenny Egan, who provided punditry for Last Man Standing, leads the charge at the table with Ní Dhubhghaill while another Olympian in Darren O’Neill will also be involved. Adding to his impressive showings for Sky Sports, charismatic middleweight contender and close friend of Moylette, Jason Quigley, will be behind the mic as well.

Finally, former light middleweight title challenger and Gaeilgeoir Sean Mannion will contribute. The Galway man was the subject of the Rocky Ros Muc documentary that was shown on TG4 last Christmas.

Moylette’s fight, naturally, will be shown while Spike O’Sullivan, Roy Sheahan, and Dylan Moran have all also been confirmed for TV. Other fighters, such as Craig O’Brien, Luis Garcia, Niall O’Connor, Victor Rabei, Johnny Corcoran, Owen Duffy, Aaron Gethins, Ruadhan Farrell, and Paddy Nevin, will be hoping to secure a spot on the televised portion of the show
