Ormond and Flanagan rescheduled for Valentines Day

STEPHEN Ormond will defend his WBO lightweight European title and fight for the right to challenge for the WBO World title on February 14.

The 31 year old Dubliner takes on undefeated Manchester native Terry Flanagan in Wolverhampton on Valentines Day.

Ormond and Flanagan were due to trade leather on December 13 2014, but the fight was postponed after ‘The Rock’ picked up a virus.

The fight is now back on and the winner will earn the right to challenge for a WBO title that looks set to be vacated by Terence Crawford.

The rescheduled date causes somewhat of a dilemma for Celtic Warrior Gym boss and Ormond trainer Pascal Collins. Ormond’s stable mate Luke Keeler will be in Blackpool competing in Prizefighter the middleweights on the same evening.
