Opponent confirmed for Daddy Doheny’s headline fight next month
TJ Doheny [16(12)-0] will keep busy next month back in his adopted home of Australia.
The Portlaoise super bantamweight returned to Sydney for the birth of his new son, and will celebrate with a ticking-over bout at Club Punchbowl on Friday June 2nd.

The Murphys Boxing fighter has not fought since headlining a card in Boston back in October, and will sharpen up for an assault on world honours with an eight rounder Down Under.
Doheny should be given rounds when he faces durable Indonesian Espinos Sabu [16(9)-12(2)] on the dinner show.
The 27 year old made a strong, unbeaten start to his career, winning and defending the Indonesian flyweight title before going on the road as the opponent in numerous rankings titles fights with prospects in the South East Asia area. In this time he has gone the distance with the likes of Rex Tso and Warlito Parrenas. Sabu’s only stoppage defeats came in his last fight, via injury, and against recent WBO bantamweight world title challenger Shohei Omori.
30 year old Doheny is ranked #5 by the WBA (champion Guillermo Rigondeaux) and #4 by the IBF (champion Yukinori Oguni) at 122lbs.
The Laois fighter has been back in the Bondi Gym recently alongside the likes of Dubliner Darragh Foley, who recently defended his WBA Oceania light welterweight title with a stunning knockout of Sonny Katiandagho, and Galway’s Gearoid Clancy, who last week lost a rematch to Kiwi lightweight Nort Beauchamp.
Doheny tops the bill in two weeks on what a packed card that also features Danny Rio, Michael Hall, Alessio Cassara, Ben Savva, Joel Bennett, Sam Wilson, Sean Moore, Nick Howard Bath, Robbie Porter, Alper Ozmen, Jeff King, and John Halabi.
