One in, One out – Changes on upcoming Belfast Europa show

There have been a couple of changes to the upcoming MHD Promotions show in Belfast next month.

Mark Dunlop’s outfit return to the Europa Hotel for their second show of the year on Saturday April 14th – ‘Collision’ – and one of the initially announced fighters has been withdrawn and a new boxer stepping in.

Andersonstown light welter Dan McShane [10(3)-1(1)] has been forced off the bill due to a slight injury, having made his long-awaited ring return on the previous MHD show in February. The card, however, has been replenished with the addition of East Belfast light welterweight Tony Nellins [3(0)-0-1] who himself will be returning to the ring after over 13 months out.

The exciting slugger last fought at the start of March 2017 where he was involved in a small-hall Fight of the Year contender with Ross Jameson. The war at the Shorts Sports and Recreation Centre was ruled a draw after four rounds of non-stop action.

‘The Baddest Man in Belfast’ was keen on a rematch in the aftermath, however Middlesbrough’s Jameson has yet to return to the ring following a broken jaw suffered in his Northern Area title defeat to Darren Surtees last May.

An opponent for Nellins will be confirmed shortly. The bill in just over four weeks time is headlined by a British lightweight title eliminator between Lagmore’s Paul Hyland Jr and Floyd Moore.

The undercard also features Coalisland featherweight Feargal McCrory and Loughlinstown welter Jay Byrne who takes on Belfast journeyman Jamesy Gorman.

Tickets for the show cost £35 (unreserved), €45 (ringside), and £75 (VIP dinner) and are available from the boxers involved.
