Interesting odds on Mick Conlan to become a professional World Champion

He may have only recently become an amateur World champion – and has the Rio Olympics next year to focus on – but you can already place bets on Mick Conlan to become a professional World champion.

Irish bookie Boylesports have priced the Belfast bantamweight at 2/1 to win a belt during his career, and 1/3 to go through his paid game without claiming World honours

Conlan, who has had contact with Golden Boy Promotions, has stated his intention to turn professional next year after the Olympics – and the 23 year old intends to move quickly, wanting a World title by 2018.

Here at irish-boxing.com we are split over the price. One side of the room thinks that 2/1 is massive odds for possibly the best amateur boxer on the planet – while the other half of the room believes that regardless of this, 2/1 is too short for any boxer who has yet to even turn pro.
