“O’Brien has no escape” – Shark Vallejo aiming to devour Dublin favourite

Jorge Vallejo is approaching his bout with Craig O’Brien [3(0)-0] tomorrow night in Dublin in a confident mood.

The Spaniard takes on the local favourite in a six rounder on the National Stadium-hosted ‘Unfinished Business’ card, and enters the clash in good form

Vallejo, who goes by the ring name Tiburón (Shark), scored a knockout win in his hometown of Oyón last weekend. The Basque boxer certainly does not lack confidence and has promised to drag his Dublin opponent into deep water and leave Ireland with a win.

Vallejo [2(0)-2(1)] noted how “fighting in Ireland has several downsides: it’s far away, I’m boxing away from home, and my opponent is undefeated.”

“But there’s one good thing about fighting in Ireland: It is an island and, therefore, surrounded by water. O’Brien has no escape.”

“We’re going to conquer Ireland.”

Also featuring on the Luke Keeler v Lewis Taylor-topped card will be Eric Donovan, Lynn Harvey, Stevie Collins, Chris Blaney, Connor Coyle, Noely Murphy, Jay Byrne, Allan Phelan. and debutant Thomas Finnegan.

Tickets cost €40 (unreserved) and €60 (ringside) and can be bought from the boxers on the bill.
