No Kashing Out – Prepared Sean Turner open to David Price second chance

Sean Turner [12(8)-3(1)] is adamant he would be a much bigger threat to David Price [23(19)-6(6)] than the undefeated Kash Ali.

The 27-year-old Birmingham boxer takes on the big punching Olympic bronze medallist on a big show in Liverpool on March 30th.

Ali [15(7)-0] has been plucked from a busy British scene to provide opposition for the likeable but fallible Liverpool giant and is promising to stop and retire Price.

However, Turner is adamant that Ali has no chance.

“Kash Ali got that fight with Price, he is talking it up but, seriously, he has no chance,” the Shankill big man told Irish-Boxing.com.

“I sparred him and took him apart in Marbella. I did him so bad he didn’t come the next day.

“Price will smash him. The lad has no balls. He is a hit and hope bottler. If he just moves around and lands big maybe, any heavy lands and the other lad could go to sleep. I don’t see that happening he just has no balls and will get smashed.”

Some might question as to why Turner, off the back of two defeats, is discussing a TV fight between Price and Ali.

However ‘Big Sexy’ was meant to be an opponent for the Scouser last October on the Belfast BoxNation bill at the Titanic Exhibition Centre.

The Dubliner was set to face Price in the headline bout but, having taken two short notice 2018 pay days, didn’t want to fight such a dangerous puncher without being 100 percent fit and motivated.

“I wasn’t ready to be honest and had a bit of an eye injury and considering I wasn’t training I decided against it. To face one of the biggest punchers in the world you need 100 percent. I wanted to give myself every chance by being fully ready. I didn’t want to be known as a journeyman.”

In saying that, Turner still fancies the job and would fight the former British and Commonwealth champion with enough notice this year.

Back training under Pete Taylor, the former National Elite heavyweight champion is looking for a big 2019 and Price features in his plans.

“I called him out after Christmas, so I would fight him,” promises Turner.

“I am hoping for big fights this year I am 100 percent back and training hard. There is talk of a good fight coming up,” he noted before revealing that he has been given false hope a number of times.

“I am still being offered fights but these lads look to fight and then go missing when you say yes.” I think they see the 12-3 record and think I am beatable and then do more homework and bottle it.”
