No Betting Odds on National Elite Senior Finals
For the first time in years it looks as though there will be no betting markets available for the National Elite Senior finals night.
17 finals take place tomorrow night but there will be no bets placed on who will be taking Irish titles home.
Irish bookmaking giant Paddy Power have confirmed that they will not be offering markets on any of the deciders.
The outlet, the only one to offer odds in recent years, have simply said that the move is a “trading decision”.
The confirmation, frustratingly, comes two weeks after Paddy Power stated that they would be offering markets on the finals.
There have been plenty of stories over the years of the family and friends of underdogs making big sums from backing their man – such as when Carl Frampton beat Davey Oliver Joyce in 2009 and when Steven Donnelly defeated Adam Nolan in 2014 – while the classic accumulator when one stakes a small amount and tries to predict all the results is a tradition for many Seniors-goers.
While it can be confirmed, the move would suggest that bookmakers don’t have the knowledge and are finding it too difficult to price up the finals match-ups and/or have been stung too many times in the past.
The last two years have seen Paddy Power only release markets on the day of the finals, with massive changes in the odds almost immediately as boxing fans took advantage.
The decision to not offer odds has not gone down well with the hardcore Irish fight fraternity.

Paddypower said the same last year and ended up putting odds up just before finals. Joke. Can give odds for obscure cricket games but not for Irish boxing finals.
