New show set for Belfast in March

After a quiet 2016 with just six shows in total, fight cards are coming thick and fast in 2017.

February already has three cards scheduled, with MHD running a dinner show at the Europa Hotel on the 4th, Queensberry bringing the Boxnation cameras back to Belfast on the 18th at the Waterfront Hall, and Red Corner Promotions returning to the National Stadium on February 25th.

Now Alio Wilton looks set to get in the mix. While a venue is yet to be confirmed, Team Alio along with Paul Graham’s Prospect Boxing will run their second co-promotion on Saturday March 11th in Belfast.

It is intended to be the first of four shows this year as Wilton, and his entertaining small hall affairs, make a resurgance.

Their previous effort was a four fight card, that saw a return to the ring for Tony Nellins after five years away, a good win for Matt Wilton, a rare victory for Casey Blair, and an entertaining Celtic Nations title fight between Shortty Carroll and Jamesy Gorman.

At this present moment there are five fighters set to feature on the next bill. Matt [14(3)-0] and older brother Luke Wilton [16(7)-5(1)-1] will compete in six round contests atop the bill. On the undercard Tony Nellins [3(0)-0] will look to continue his comeback, while Casey Blair [4(0)-20(3)] will be gunning for another win. Finally, and most intriguingly, Lurgan southpaw Ryan Greene [6(1)-1(1)] is pencilled in to make a return to boxing almost five years after his loss to Eamonn O’Kane in Prizefighter middleweights.
