New promoter enters Irish scene – announces first show

A new promoter has entered the scene as the Irish boxing resurgence continues.

This afternoon it was announced that Dublin newcomersSK Promotions will run their first show next month.

Run by Kilnamanagh trainer Stephen Kavanagh, the new outfit will make their debut on Friday October 20th at the Citywest Hotel in Saggart.

No fighters have been confirmed for the card yet, but the will be further announcements over the coming days regarding tickets and the boxers involved.

Kavanagh said that “I’ve been around the sport for years in different capacities and now I’m delighted to announce the first ever SK Promotion.”

“Dublin is a proud fight city and serves as the perfect location for our first event. The Irish boxing scene is the strongest in recent memory and October 20th promises to be a great evening of action.”

“Irish boxing continues to go from strength to strength and SK Promotions believes it will deliver both the boxing fans and the boxers some memorable events.”

The show comes the night before the big Matchroom bill in Belfast, and should act as the perfect start to a fight-filled weekend.

It is the second Dublin show confirmed this weekend following yesterday’s confirmation of Celtic Clash 4.
