Hughie Fury [20(10)-0] will take on WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker later this year.

The mandatory challenger will have home advantage for the bout, and New Zealander Parker [23(18)-0] will defend his belt at the Manchester Arena on Saturday September 23rd.

Fury had been set to challenge for the belt in Auckland, New Zealand, on May 6th – but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a back injury.

22 year old Fury will first fight in a warm-up at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday July 8th against a to-be-confirmed opponent.

It will be almost 17 months since Fury last fought, with his technical decision win against Fred Kassi coming at the end of last April. The Manchester-born youngster had taken a period out of ring to recover from severe Acne Conglobata, which was thought to have been leaving him drained in the ring.

25 year old Parker won the belt back in December with a narrow points win over Mexican Andy Ruiz. Following Fury’s initial withdrawal, Parker took on his Romanian sparring partner Razvan Cojanu and scored a wide points win.

TV details for the Hennessy-Duco co-promotion will be announced in the near future, with many suggesting that a double header with the WBO lightweight title fight between Terry Flanagan and Felix Verdejo.
