New comeback date for Insane McShane

Daniel McShane [9(3)-1(1)] will end an almost three year sabbatical from the ring when he fights on MHD Promotions first show of 2018.

The boxing barber suffered his first defeat as a pro when his shoulder came out while fighting Zoltan Horvath in March of 2015 and he hasn’t fought since.

‘Insane’, whose ring walks became a thing of small hall legend, had threatened a return on more than one occasion and, both before and during his time off, wasn’t shy of a call out.

However, after a number of false-starts it seems the 24 year old ticket-seller will reunite with Mark Dunlop and return to the ring on a dinner-show at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on Saturday February 3rd.

Super featherweight McShane will join a bill which also features James Tennyson, Joe Fitzpatrick, Stevie Quinn Jr, and Feargal McCrory.

Initially announced on the bill, Paul Hyland Jr will no longer fight as he requires a longer than anticipated recovery from a broken jaw suffered in his controversial win over Stephen Ormond in October.

Dunlop is delighted to see McShane back fighting, and said that “Daniel has taken some time away from the sport and has had a tough time of late, I am just happy he is back at the Kronk with Tony Dunlop and training alongside his good friend James Tennyson. ”

“He is still a baby and has plenty of time to fulfil his potential.”

“A special thanks to Kieran Farrell who like myself just wants to see Dan back on track”

Tickets are on sale now for the card and are available from Dunlop and the fighters involved.

Prices are £35.00 (Unreserved), £45.00 (Reserved Ringside), £75.00 (VIP including four course meal).
