New Belfast Christmas show announced

A new December card has this evening been confirmed.

On Friday December 7th MTK Global will run a show at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast.

Following on from the BoxNation bill at the same venue earlier this month, 10 Irish fighters will feature in just under six weeks time.

No TV or a headliner have been confirmed for this date but it is assumed that BoxNation will once again air the night’s action.

Front and centre of the announcement are Belfast welter Lewis Crocker [7(6)-0] and Coalisland middleweight Conrad Cummings [15(7)-2(0)-1].

Cummings was put forward by many as a potential British title opponent for Mark Heffron on the Warrington-Frampton bill two weeks later but it seems the Tyrone man is instead focusing on the Commonwealth belt which will be contested by Abolaji Rasheed and Elliott Matthews next month.

Crocker, it is believed, will fight for his first title on the bill.

Derry super bantamweight Tyrone McCullagh [12(6)-0], who headlined the last card at the TEC, will feature again here although it is not clear if he is defending either, both, or neither of his BBBoC Celtic and WBO European belts.

British welterweight title hopeful Paddy Gallagher [14(9)-4(0)] is also down to appear alongside the extremely active duo of Ballymena light middleweight Steven Donnelly [4(0)-0] and Turf Lodge lightweight Sean McComb [4(3)-0].

Following a statement win on the last card, Naas lightweight Gary Cully [6(3)-0] is primed to step up further, as is St James’s super middleweight Padraig McCrory [5(2)-0] who had a big win over Sean McGlinchey earlier this month.

The card is rounded off by Dubliners Phil Sutcliffe Jr [14(9)-2(1)], who makes his return from serious injury, and Stevie Collins Jr [12(4)-2(0)-1] who will no longer be facing Jay McFarlane for the BUI Celtic cruiserweight title in Glasgow on November 30th/

The show, of course, regrettably clashes with the Assassin Boxing show at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar on the same night. Here Ray Moylette fights for the vacant WBC International lightweight against an opponent to-be-confirmed this week.

Before these two shows there is also the ‘Back in Belfast’ card at the Shorts Sports and Recreation Club on November 17th and ‘Celtic Clash 7’ at Good Counsel GAA Club in Dublin on November 24th.
