New All-Irish clash added to Last Man Standing undercard

Tyrone McKenna vs Phil Sutcliffe Jr, Jono Carroll vs Marco McCullough, Luke Keeler vs Conrad Cummings, Jay Byrne vs Craig O’Brien and recently Colin O’Donovan vs Stephen McAfee – 2018 has already brought news of some sensational and mouthwatering domestic derbies not to mention the fact Last Man Standing tournament will throw up a host of all Irish match-ups.

Well, you can now add another one to the list.

It may not be as high profile as the three domestic dust-ups set to play out on the Frampton-Donaire undercard nor the Irish title fight set for TG4 broadcast, it’s not a bill-topper like the rematch between McAfee and O’Donovan, but it’s intriguing nonetheless.

Dublin’s Victor Rabei will take on Belfast banger Mark Morris in the National Stadium on March 3rd on what is increasingly becoming a stacked and exciting Last Man Standing undercard.

Rabei made some noise both in and out of the ring since making his debut back in June of last year. Three solid wins and an air of confidence made him one of a number of standout 2017 debutants.

The Moldovan-born Dub now gets the chance to crank up the volume significantly as the newly signed Assassin lightweight takes on Morris in a pick’em Dublin v Belfast clash.

Morris turned pro back in 2013, but Daniel McShane’s cousin hasn’t fought regularly since ditching the vest. The Belfast man like Rabei has three victories on his slate, but took years to get the three green W’s on his BoxRec record whilst Rabei achieved the same in a matter of months.

However, that isn’t to suggest a fighter, whose sole defeat came against James Fryers, hasn’t a chance. Morris is always superbly fit, game, and has been refining his skill set under the watchful of Ray Ginley as well as bringing real power to the ring.

The fight in just over three weeks time will take place over four rounds.

Rabei v Morris features on a bumper undercard that also includes Craig O’Brien v Jay Byrne as well as Allan Phelan, Max Wicks, Vladimir Belujsky, JJ McDonagh, Paddy McDonagh, Dylan McDonagh, Israel Duffus, and Cillian Reardon.
