Myers takes Gold in Gee Bee Multi Nations in Finland

Hughie Myers claimed gold at the Gee Bee Multi Nations in Helsinki, Finland today.
The Ryston BC light-fly hammered out a unanimous decision over Wales’ Ashley Williams in Helsinki.
Myers took the first and thrid rounds of this enounter, a clash which Irish team manager Joe Lavery described as tough.
“We’re absolutely delighted with the victory here today. Hughie performed very well against a tough opponent and he was a deserved winner,” he said.
Myers (gold) and Kurt Walker (bronze) finished in podium positions in Helsinki.
John Conlan and Jimmy Halpin were working Ireland’s corner at the 33rd edition of the tournament.
John Casey was Irish R&J at the tournament.
The Irish squad are due to arrive home on Monday morning (10:45am) via Dublin Airport.
