Murray excited by return

Andy Murray will make his first appearance in the ring since winning the European Union lightweight title when he takes on Adam Kelly at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on July 18.
Murrays recently acquired strap will not be on the line but the undefeated Cavan Native, 15-0, is extremely excited about the bout nonetheless.
I was based in England for the first couple of years of my pro career and six of my first eight pro fights were in London, explained Murray.
Im looking forward to fighting there again and especially at the York Hall because its a great venue and has a great tradition.
Murray, of course, claimed the European Union title with a unanimous points win over Daniel Rasilla on the undercard of Bernard Dunnes sensational world title triumph over Ricardo Cordoba, in March.
Dunnes epic victory at The sold-out O2 Arena in Dublin will go down as one of the great nights in Irish sport and Murray, unsurprisingly, is hoping to emulate his compatriots achievement in the not too distant future.
The atmosphere that night was something else and Bernard winning the world title has been a real lift for Irish boxing, said Murray.
Hes proved to the other Irish pros that if you put in the work and persevere the results will come your way.
Hopefully there will be plenty more nights like that over the next few years and I hope to be part of them.
However, Murray is wisely refusing to look too far ahead, insisting that he is solely focused on Saturday weeks bout with Kelly.
Hopefully I can use the European Union title as a stepping stone to the full European title but thats all a bit further down the road, he said.
The only thing Im concentrating on now is this fight at the York Hall and getting a good win there.
A clash of unbeaten fighters tops the bill at the York Hall on July 18th with Danny McIntosh and Nathan Cleverly squaring off for the British Light Heavyweight title. The undercard features former British and European Champion Jon Thaxton and unbeaten Heavyweight sensation Tyson Furys seventh professional outing, as well as Murrays bid for a 16th successive win.
