Mixed fortunes for Upton brothers in York Hall

THERE was mixed fortunes for the Upton Clan in the York Hall on Saturday night.

Sonny, Pauly and Anto Upton were in action on the same card for the first time, but the large Upton following only had two wins to celebrate.

The oldest of the former Irish International trio Paul Upton go the show off to a great start novice Ashley Howard within a round to push his record to 5-0.

Light middleweight Sonny was the next Ricky Hatton trained fighter and Upton to enter the ring and the 25 year old suffered controversial defeat.

Journey man Gary Cooper stopped the middle of the three brothers in the first round of a scheduled four rounder.

Sonny Upton took a shot to the back of the head and another to the spine, Upton was hurt, but with most expecting the referee to have a word with Cooper he waved the fight off.

Anthony Upton had the Upton Clan back celebrating soon after however as he pushed his record to 6-0 with a second round stoppage of Radoslav Mitev.
