Mixed fortunes for Cusack and Townley

2 June 2010 – By Cormac Campbell

There were mixed fortunes for Belfast based boxers Brian Cusack and Phil Townley who were in action in Bedford at the weekend.

Former Immaculata light-heavyweight Cusack improved his fledgling record to 2-0 (1KO) with a third round TKO of Emmanuell Oshinronde.

However, there was disappointment for Bangors Phil Townley, who despite inflicting a first round count on Jamie Boness and cutting him in the fourth, dropped a 37-39 points decision.

Meanwhile, Eastsides flyweight prospect Luke Wilton is expected to return to action early in July. Wiltons handlers also hope to stage another bill in late August or early September and are currently scouting venues.
