Micky O’Rourke has exciting win on Matchroom show

Micky O’Rourke had an exciting win at the weekend on the Matchroom Promotions ‘Stand And Deliver’ Fight Pass show in London’s York Hall. The rangy lightweight won a tough six round decision over Danny Parsons on a show which featured Johnny Coyle, John Ryder, and some of Matchroom’s hottest prospects.

The fight was a six round, toe-to-toe battle with neither boxer giving any ground and both landing with countless shots. However, in the end, it was the slightly cleaner, busier work of O’Rourke that impressed the referee who gave the Feltham fighter the nod on a 58-57 scoreline.

26 year old O’Rourke improves his unbeaten record to 5(1)-0, while Parsons moves to 1(1)-2(0).

The well-supported lightweight certainly impressed and entertained at the historic venue and could well be rewarded with future slots on bigger Matchroom bills.
