Mick Conlan weighs in for fourth professional fight


Mick Conlan [3(3)-0] weighed in last night for his fourth professional fight.

The Belfast fighter opens the ESPN-televised portion of Top Rank’s big world title show tonight at the Tucson Convention Centre in Arizona.

Conlan faces Montana boxer Kenny Guzman [3(1)-0] over six rounds on the Oscar Valdez v Genesis Servania and Gilberto Ramirez v Jessie Hart double header,

The Olympic bronze medalist and World Amateur champion is the only fight on the undercard that will be shown live.

Last night he hit the scales for the high-profile bout.

The Falls Road 25 year old came in at a career-highest 126.6lbs, while Guzman tipped the scales at 125lbs even.

Conlan initially had intended to begin his world title assault in the 122lbs super bantamweight division, but confirmed during the Summer that he has switched his focus to the 126lbs featherweight division.

The fight will be available to view for Irish fans on BoxNation TV, with coverage starting at 2:00am – and Conlan is due in the ring at 3:30am..
