McGuigan: Joe Gallagher would swap Scott Quigg for Carl Frampton if he could

It is not only Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg who go head-to-head on February 27th. The pair’s respective trainers, Shane McGuigan and Joe Gallagher, also go up against each other in a battle of wits, tactics, and boxing knowledge.

During last week’s media tour, the coaches also showed that it’s not just the boxer’s who can trash-talk. While Joe Gallagher’s antics are well-documented, McGuigan showed that he can certainly hold his own.

McGuigan believes that he has a special fighter. Indeed, when asked was he feeling pressure ahead of the February mega-fight, a calm McGuigan replied that “there’s not a lot of pressure because I know that, if Joe Gallagher was given the option, he’d take my fighter.”

“We’re coming out, and he’s [Quigg] getting it handed to him in his home town.”
