McDonagh claims he’s as excited as soon to get some virgin- suggests Eubank’s in hiding

JJ McDonagh is taking further confidence from the fact Chris Eubank Jr is in hiding ahead of their clash in Suadi Arabai tomorrow.

The Westmeath man revealed its a case of nowhere to be seen in terms of the British fighter during fight week as they prepare to go at over 10 rounds on the under card of the George Groves Callum Smith WSSB super middleweight final tonight.

According to McDonagh the controversial star was a no show for the final press conference, has little to no media this week, has been hibernating in his hotel room and only showed face for the weigh in.

It could be the recent world title challenger is trying to focus fully on the job at hand, but the Irish southpaw is hoping it’s a sign he isn’t happy to competing tonight.

The Assassin fighter may be looking to much into the situation, but it’s not a clutching at straws moment as McDonagh has told anyone that would listen he will end the the son of fight legend Chris Eubank’s career tonight.

“He hasn’t left his room,” McDonagh told Irish-boxing.com. “He didn’t come to the press conference and came across a bit arrogant and had a bit of a chip on his shoulder at the weigh in. He has spent most of his time with his team and Ronnie Davis around the hotel, who are lovely guys.”

“I am very very confident. I am growing in confidence now.,” McDonagh added.

That extra confidence comes from Eubank Jr’s demeanour as well as the fact he feels in peak shape. The fighter, who claims he had to be called of Eubank Jr when they sparred may also have a few extra tricks up his sleeve as others who have sparred a fighter, whose only two career defeats have come against Billy Joe Saunders and George Groves have been only too willing to give him tips.

“I made the weight easy and I am feeling very very strong and powerful. The reception I have gotten here has been great. Lots of boxing people have been wishing me luck.I even had lads that have sparred Eubank coming up to me giving me tips,” he added before revealing in his own unique way just how excited he about the chance to change his life.

“I am extremely excited. I’ll tell you what it’s like. I am as excited as a virgin who is about to have sex for the first time.”
