Massive fight confirmed for Sky Sports Belfast card

A massive fight has this evening been confirmed for the Sky Sports show in Belfast next month.

Ryan Burnett challenges IBF bantamweight champion Lee Haskins on the June 10th card at the SSE Odyssey Arena and the undercard will feature a quite frankly stunning cruiserweight clash.

As had been suggested last week, Belfast’s Tommy McCarthy [9(5)-1(0)] will take on Cork-Cuban Mike Perez [21(13)-2(1)-1] on the Matchroom card.

It will be Lenadoon big man McCarthy’s first fight back since his British title final eliminator loss to Matty Askin last November and his first fight under new trainer Ensley Bingham.

Since losing to Alexander Povetkin in a heavyweight world title eliminator in Russia two years ago, ‘The Rebel’ Perez has slimmed down to cruiserweight and is ready for one last roll of the dice.

The Caribbean Leesider is still scheduled to appear in Dublin this weekend on the Celtic Clash 2 card at the National Stadium.

Aside from this crossroads fight, the undercard at present comprises of an Irish cruiserweight title fight between Luke Watkins and Ian Tims alongside appearances from Carl McDonald, Sean Magee, Feargal McCrory, Matt Wilton, Tyrone McCullagh, Paul Hyland Jr, James Tennyson, Padraig McCrory, and Paddy Gallagher.

Tickets for ‘Belfast Boy’ on June 10th at the SSE Odyssey Arena cost £30, £40, £60, £100, and £150 (VIP), and can be bought from the boxers involved or HERE.
