Karl Kelly and Martin Quinn both predicting knockouts ahead of Dublin bash

Before the big Irish title fight between Carl McDonald and Dylan McDonagh tomorrow night there is a proper ding-dong lightweight brawl which threatens to steal the show.

Heavy punchers Martin Quinn and Karl Kelly clash in a six-round bout which is essentially a BUI Celtic lightweight title eliminator.

A fight which is guaranteed to be a war and a fight where we are sure to see a massive knockout either way, Kelly v Quinn is part of a new trend of matchmaking in Ireland..

Two no-nonsense straight-talkers, the novice pair will meet in the middle of the ring and slug it out for as long as needs be.

Both, naturally, are hugely confident.

Crumlin’s Quinn predicted that “he’s going to want it too much and he’s going to get caught. I’m going to put him on his arse. I think I’ll knock him out. He needs this win more than I do, he’s going to want it more, and I think he’s going to walk onto a heavy shot and I’ll put him away.”

Monkstown’s Kelly reasoned that “I’m not going to say ‘I’m going to knock him out’ and this and that but, if the knockout comes, I’m going to take it. It won’t go six rounds, it 100% won’t go six rounds. You want to give fans an exciting fight – this is going to be Fight of the Night. Let’s just say ‘get the popcorn ready!'”
