Mystic Martin Quinn fulfills debut knockout prediction

Martin Quinn promised he would win his debut with a second round knockout and he tonight did just that.

The Crumlin lightweight debuted on the ‘Celtic Clash 3: Building Champions’ bill at the National Stadium and certainly lived up to his Wrecking Ball nickname.

Quinn took on Marcin Fincer, and busted through the Polish journeyman as he predicted.

The Dubliner felt his way through the opening round before dropping Ficner out of nowhere with a big hook on the bell.

Going into the second round it never looked likely to last much longer, with Quinn jumping on the Pole from the off. Ficner was bludgeoned to the canvas by a flurry before the towel sensibly came in from the corner.

The inside the distance win sees Quinn start off at 1(1)-0, while the steamrolled Ficner drops to 2(0)-18(18)

Beforehand Quinn had pledged to outdo Stephen McAfee, who stopped the same opponent in the third on Celtic Clash 2, and such talk alongside the impressive performance has led to suggestions for a fight between the pair in the near future.
