Lynn Harvey reveals big offer following European title defeat

It’s no longer her screensaver, she can’t bare to look at it for the time being, but Lynn Harvey [5(4)-2(1)] hasn’t given up her European title dream.

The Hunter was stopped in a Madrid-hosted strawweight EBU title fight last month and, considering she is 37, there were a few who suggested the Continental clash reverse would be her last.

The Kilbarrack native admits hanging them up would be an option if she had to go back to the slog of selling tickets just to cover her opponent’s purse, but claims she has a massive desire to continue and still has the belief she can fulfill her big title dream.

The former National Elite Champion also reveals she has been offered a deal that could enable her to avoid a small hall rebuild and is possibly more excited about her future post European title defeat than before the knockout reverse.

It may have looked like that stoppage defeat may have bolted doors shut, but Harvey impressed Spanish outfit Boxing Club Promotions.

Indeed, Jose Castro took such a shine to the Dublin fighter that he wants to add her to his stable.

The pair are in discussions and there are a few stipulations that the fighter wants added in, but the advance seems welcome and the link up could be positive.

Boxing Club Promotions promote upcoming WBC strawweight title challenger Maricela Quintero and obviously Catalina Diaz the now European belt holder among others and have a good record in on the European female scene.
