Luke Keeler planning to impress his way on Matchrooms books with strong showing against tough opposition

THE 3Arena will play host to anything but a jobs fair on November 15, but Luke Keeler is viewing the Return of the Mack fight card as an interview.

The undefeated middleweight prospect is hoping to impress his way onto Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom books.

‘Cool Hand Luke’ might not be the biggest name on the card, but he hoping to leave a lasting impression on the promoter and the Sky viewers- And the Ballyfermot native believes Gary Boulden provides perfect statement making opposition.

Indeed, Keeler believes its the perfect foe for the perfect show.

“He’s a decent opponent, a lot better fighter than his record suggests and gives his all in each fight. He try’s to win in each fight so is ideal opponent for the show and will bring the best out in me,” Keeler told Irish-boxing.com.

“It’s perfect stage to take the step up and fact he’s been in with and gone distance with top English lads mean he be known to commentators and therefore I’ll get a good bit of credit when I beat him.”

Boulden has gone 10 rounds with current European Champion Billy Joe Saunders and has shared the ring with the likes of Eammon O’Kane, Anthony Ogogo aswell as a host of prospects.

27 year old 6-0 middleweight, Keeler would love to do a better job than Saunders and alll but three of the English fighters 25 opponents by taking the short route to victory, but is adamant he is ready for eight hard rounds.

“Of course would like to go better and stop this guy but I’m training to go eight rounds and will be happy either way, Training going perfect and if stoppage comes I’ll take it. At same time looking forward to showing my boxing skills, the skills I’m producing each week in sparring, I plan on taking them in to the fight with me this time.”

The Celtic Warrior Gym fighter has been preparing in a busy gym alongside Jono Carroll, Spike O’Sullivan, Ian Tims and Stephen Ormond and he feels the full time camp will benefit him come November 15.

“Prep has gone perfect I’m buzzing since fight was back on, have time off work this time so just training twice a day and resting and feeling the benefits full of energy and huge smile on face going training. Hopefully Eddie Hearn signs me up after this show and I can give up the day job!!”
