Liam Williams looking forward to ‘hurting’ Gary Corcoran

British and Commonwealth light middleweight champion Liam Williams kept busy at the weekend on the Liam Smith World title undercard at the Echo Arena.

The Welshman destroyed Gustavo Alberto Sanchez in three rounds and immediately set his sights on a British title defence against rival Gary Corcoran.

The pair are now expected to meet on July 16th in Cardiff, and Williams is planning a big win over the London-born Galwegian.

Following his victory, Williams gave the Boxnation cameras his frank thoughts on ‘The Hellraiser,’ revealing that “to be honest with you, I don’t really like him”

“It’s just something about him, he gave me a bit of lip on Twitter.”

Indeed the 24 year old is relishing the opportunity to meet the Wembley puncher in the ring, admitting that “I’m looking forward to putting a bit of hurt on him.”

“I’ll have the home crowd behing me and I’ll send him home with his tail between his legs.”

Throwback fighter Corcoran has had a fruitful past twelve months with comprehensive wins over Rick Godding, Rick Skelton, and Danny Butler, and has previously stated that “I want to go for Liam Williams.”

“That would be a massive fight and I’m confident I could beat him.”

“I’ve got the ability to box him or fight him, when I fight him I’ll know what to do.”
