Lewis Crocker signs with MGM

Belfast phenom Lewis Crocker has put pen to paper on a management deal with MGM.

The welterweight, who turned 20 last week, is known as one of the hottest prospects in Irish boxing, and carved out a reputation for himself as a fearsome puncher whilst in the amateurs.

During his time in the vest, Crocker won European Schoolboys bronze in 2011.

The Ulster starlet was due to debut on the November 5th Boxnation show at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, but saw this slot postponed as he required surgery to repair a nose injury which had been hindering his breathing.

On the move, Crocker outlined that “I’m delighted to sign with MGM and be part of the team. They are massive in the sport and have a real investment in Irish boxing which is important to me. I can’t wait to get started and I know my new team have big plans for my future.”

“I’ve always felt my style of boxing is more suited for the pro’s than the amateurs. Switching at this stage means I’ll learn my trade and be ready for when those big opportunities are presented.”

MGM have big plans for the youngster, and described how “Lewis has a huge future in the sport and is very heavy-handed. We feel he will make a huge impact in the welterweight division and we look forward to helping Lewis achieve his goal of becoming world champion”

A debut date is set to be announced for Crocker in the near future, and it is widely expected that he will be added to the Boxnation show at the Waterfront Hall on February 18th.
