Lewis Crocker secures dream fight date

Lewis Crocker [3(3)-0] has been added to the ‘Frampton Reborn’ undercard which takes place next month in Belfast.

The 20 year old welterweight has been confirmed for the bill at the SSE Odyssey Arena on Saturday November 18th.

It’s an unsurprising addition to the Queensberry Boxing bill considering Crocker is promoted by Frank Warren.

The slot will give ‘The Croc’ a second chance to support his idol Carl Frampton. The youngster was due to feature on the Return of The Jackal card in July but saw this show cancelled the night before when Frampton’s proposed opponent Andres Gutierrez fell in the shower.

Speaking ahead of the card in less than six weeks time, the Immanuel Boxing Academy fighter said that “it’s going to be a special night. Big fight nights are always special in Belfast but this one will be on another level. When Carl Frampton is in action the city is electric and I can’t wait to be part of it.”

So far Crocker’s three fights have lasted less than six minutes in total, however the South Belfast man is not feeling pressured by his reputation as a puncher.
.
“It’s been a great start to my career and hopefully it continues,” he added. The knockout streak is good to have but I won’t be putting any pressure on myself to get the stoppage. I’ll be looking to do what I know I can when the bell sounds and if the knockout comes I’ll take it.”

An opponent for Crocker, hopefully someone who can bring him a few rounds, will be announced shortly.

Also on the ‘Frampton Reborn’ card will be Steven Ward, Gary Cully, Davey Oliver Joyce, Paddy Barnes, an all-South African WBO bantamweight title fight between Zolani Tete and Siboniso Gonya, a rematch between Declan Geraghty and Jono Carroll, and Jamie Conlan’s title challenge against IBF super fly champ Jerwin Ancajas.
