Lee v Saunders to be shown live in America

Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders finally trade leather for the WBO middleweight crown on December 19th, and there will be some interested overseas onlookers.

Frank Warren has announced that the title showdown at the Manchester Arena will be shown across the Atlantic on Showtime.

Showtime is one of the two big cable boxing channels in America, alongside HBO, and was the home of Floyd Mayweather Jr. The channel has close links with influential advisor Al Haymon, the architect of ‘Premier Boxing Champions.’

Haymon’s middleweights include Peter Quillin and Daniel Jacobs who lock horns for the WBA ‘regular’ title in Brooklyn on December 5th and no doubt comparisons will be drawn two weeks later.

This side of the pond, the long-delayed clash between Lee and Saunders is, of course, being shown live on Boxnation TV and will be the Irishman’s forth consecutive appearance on the boxing-dedicated channel.
