Fan-Favourite Fryers scores dominant win on DiBella show

Larry Fryers scored the biggest win of his short career last night New York.

The Monaghan light welterweight dominated Charles Natal over six rounds on a Lou DiBella card at BB King’s Blues Club in Times Square.

Fryers brought a massive crowd with him from Upstate New York down to Manhattan, creating the biggest atmosphere of the night on a card which also included former lightweight world champ Dejan Zlaticanin.

Following a small step up in his previous fight, Fryers took a big jump here against an unbeaten opponent with over twice as many pro fights as him – however he rose to the occasion on the ‘Broadway Boxing’ card.

‘Lethal Larry’ was on top throughout, bullying the Puerto Rican counter-puncher back from the off. Indeed Natal seemed to lose heart as the bout progressed and the relentless Irishman continued to march forward.

After six rounds, Fryers was declared a unanimous decision winner with scorecards of 60-54 x2 and 59-55.

It was a third win in three months for Fryers who improves to 6(2)-0 and continues to climb through the ranks – while Natal drops to 9(3)-1(0)-2.
