Larry Fryers grabs win on Mick Conlan Undercard

Larry Fryers kicked off the show tonight at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Monaghan welter was the only Irish fighter in action on the undercard of Mick Conlan’s professional debut and scored a a wide points win.

‘Lethal’ Larry took on Seattle puncher Gabriel Solario on the Top Rank show in a scheduled four rounder, claiming a third career victory,

In front of a large crowd that traveled down from his adopted home area of East Durham, and plenty of fans who have flown over from Ireland for Conlan.

The Clones fighter started fast and dropped the Washington boxer in the first round. A hand injury sustained during the second however would see the 26 year old be forced to box quite conservatively for the remainder of the contest.

Going to the scorecards, the Irishman was given the nod with tallies of 40:35 across the board.

With the win, Fryers improves his record to 3(1)-0, while Solario slips to 2(0)-4(2)-1.

Next up for Fryers now is a trip north of the border for a fight date in on April 15th in Cornwall, Canada, against Michell Polina
