Larry Fryers faces time out following Mick Conlan undercard injury

In what must be extremely frustrating considering the momentum he was building, Larry Fryers [3(1)-0] faces a spell on the sidelines following numerous hand injuries suffered earlier this month on the Mick Conlan pro debut undercard.

The Monaghan welterweight was the sole other Irish fight on the massive St Patrick’s Day card at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, where he scored a dominant four-round points win over Gabriel Solario.

‘Lethal’ Larry suffered a right hand injury in the second round, and it was later revealed that he had suffered a bad fracture and three dislocations which would require surgery to repair.

26 year old Fryers went under the knife last Thursday, and the estimated recovery time is between four and five months.

The Clones boxer was set for his third fight in nine weeks on April 15th in Cornwall, Canada, but this date has now obviously been scrapped.
