Keeler secures fight on Matchroom Dublin show

LUKE Keeler will go from topping his own bill to propping one up on August 30, but considering the magnitude of the fight night the middleweight prospect won’t be upset.

The Ballyfermott native was due to headline his own show in Dublin in mid August, but with the return of three time World title challenger Matthew Macklin to Ireland the planned small hall show has been cancelled.

‘Cool Hand Luke’, won’t  be flustered, however, as he has secured a slot on the exciting card. Indeed fighting on the undercard of former Irish, British and European champion Macklin’s Dublin return could prove more beneficial to the Celtic Warrior Gym fighter than topping his own show.

Keeler will get a chance to impress Eddie Hearn on the National Stadium hosted show something he will be eager to do as Matchroom look to promote Macklin from Ireland on a regular basis. Not to mention Keeler’s eight round fight could be broadcast on Sky Sports giving him the opportunity expose his talents to fight fans across Britain.
