Kavanagh looking forward to painting America green with Quigley

JAMIE Kavanagh has welcomed Jason Quigley to the Golden Boy ranks and is looking forward to painting America green with his fellow Irish puncher.

The 24 year old lightweight has built an impressive 16-1 record under the watchful of Oscar De La Hoya and co. The Dubliner has been joined on the promotional books by middleweight prospect Quigley, who makes his pro debut on the undercard of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s fight against Erislandy Lara in the 17,000-seater MGM Grand, Las Vegas, on July 12.

Kavanagh, who faces the experienced Michael Clark on Thursday night in Boston is delighted to have the European amateur Champion as a promotional stable mate and hopes the pair can share fight cards in the future.

“It is great news and it will be great for the future. Jason has made the big jump across the pound, congratulations and good luck too him,” Kavanagh told Irish-boxing.com.

“It isn’t easy being so far away from home, but he look likes a kid that knows what he wants. Personally I am looking forward too the possibly of sharing future cards with him.”

Most of the ‘Nuisance’s’ fight career has played out in California and the West Coast, but he returns East this coming Thursday and is delighted to be back fighting in Boston on Thursday night.

Kavanagh fights for the second time in the House of Blues and is looking forward to making an impression at his home away from home when he fights former World title challenger Michael Clark.

“I am delighted to be back in the House of Blues. Boston is amazing, the fans and the support is something else. Last time it was as if i was fighting in my home town. I have never had that type of support and I am delighted to be back getting that type of support again.”
