Jono Carroll aims to send warning to “peanut head” Tevin Farmer with Frenois domination

Jono Carroll believes that everything is coming together at the right time and that will result in a destructive performance in Sheffield tomorrow night.

The Dublin super featherweight has risen and risen in recent times and boxes in an IBF world title final eliminator, live on Sky, versus two-time European champion Guillaume Frenois.

A legitimate test and the biggest fight of his career, Carroll has promised to beat the Frenchman in all areas to set up a massive Stateside world title fight versus Philly champ Tevin Farmer.

Moving into fights now with global significance, 26-year-old Carroll is hungrier and more motivated than ever and believes this will add to his performances

“This is what boxing’s all about,” he declared.

“I don’t work this hard and sacrifice so many hours in the gym, blood, sweat, and tears, to fight journeymen or fight people who I know, when I get in there to fight, that I know I’m going to beat.”

“I need to be in with people that are going to test me and this Frenchman is very experienced.”

“My past few fights, I’m only getting better and better when I get in there because my level of opposition has gotten better and better.”

“When you get these opportunities you take them with both hands and destroy anything in your path.”

The Finglas-born, Dunshaughlin-raised, Marbella-based pro has warned veteran Farmer that he will out-do him in all areas.

On paper the clash at the Sheffield Arena pits a pressure fighter against a technical boxer but Carroll is confident that he can, and will, do everything.

“I hope he is ready for a war because us Irish love to go to war,” noted ‘King Kong’.

“I have to say, I’m ready for anything, whether we want to box – I believe I’ve a little bit better boxing ability, hand speed, power – and, as always, I love to go to war too.”

“I’m going to look to drag him into all sorts of my boxing game.”

“listen, nothing is going to stop me. I don’t really look too much into who I’m fighting, I just try to be the best ‘me’, the best boxer, I can possibly be and the rest takes care of itself.”

“For me, it doesn’t matter who I face, I just look at what type of fighter they are, we come up with a gameplan and we just execute that gameplan and destroy.”

With the bout being an official final eliminator, much of the talk in the build-up has been around champion Farmer – whom Carroll has shared plenty of verbals.

While not overlooking Frenois, Carroll is aiming to dominate tomorrow’s foe to further build the mooted clash with ‘The American Dream’.

The Prizefighter winner outlined how “I’m looking to impress, I don’t want to just win this fight, I want to impress, I want to show Tevin Farmer the little peanut head that I’m going to eat him alive when his time comes.”

“Frenois is like a banana skin because, if I don’t win, there is no Tevin Farmer and, God knows, I want to lay my hands on Tevin Farmer’s little head.”

“Trust me, I will be performing on Saturday because, at the end of the day, I’ve got a job to do and I need to take this very seriously.”

“…but, at the same time, we know I’m ready for Tevin Farmer.”
