John Joe Nevin to make return under top new trainer this month

John Joe Nevin [8(4)-0] will finally return to the ring later this month as he looks to relaunch his career on this side of the Atlantic.

The Mullingar super featherweight has not fought since August of last year, with that six rounder having been his only fight of 2016.

A pro three and a half years now, injury and problems outside the ring have held Nevin back and restricted him to just eight fights.

Nevin, formerly based in Philadelphia, had hoped to kickstart his career last month on a Steve Wraith Promotions bill at the Tolworth Recreational Centre in London, but saw his scheduled six-rounder shelved at the last minute.

The Olympic silver medalist, now training alongside the likes of world champion James DeGale under Jim McDonnell in London, will finally make his return on Friday November 24th at the same venue.

Nevin will boxiin a six rounder on a Hennessy Sports bill which also features Cheznie Hawkins, Lenny Daws, Yusuf Saffa, Naylor Ball, Nathanael Wilson, Jonny Phillips, George Lamport, Tony Vincent, Kieran McPherson, Zuhayr Al Qahtani, and Kallia Kourouni.
