JB Promotions announce newest signing ahead of first show

JB Management and Promotions have announced the signing of a new fighter as they begin their entry into the Irish scene.

The outfit, run by BUI Celtic welterweight champ Jay Byrne [7(2)-4(1)] will run their first show this Summer and are starting to build up their stable.

This afternoon it has been confirmed that Bray middleweight Eddie Treacy has joined the team and will make his debut under the promotion.

Something of a latecomer to boxing, the Wicklow brawler only began in the sport in 2015 having previously been in-and-out of the sport as a child.

Boxing out of St Teresa’s under Mark Buckley, Treacy fought a handful of times in the vest, winning the Leinster and National Novice championships.

He also fought and won twice on Byrne’s previous semi-pro venture and is said to be extremely heavy-handed.

The fighter announced his intention to turn pro at the end of last year and has now linked up with Ireland’s newest promotional outfit.

Byrne said that “it is with great pleasure we announce our latest signing. Eddie will be involved in some exciting battles along his journey and has an ‘I’ll fight anyone attitude’.

Treacy joins Byrne and Monkstown super feather Karl Kelly [1(0)-1(0)] in the JB stable.

A debut date will be announced next Thursday (April 26th) at 5:00pm in the National Stadium where JB Promotions and Assassin Boxing will formally announce their first card.
