Jason Quigley targets Saunders and Eubank Jr clashes

Forget a step up the ladder Jason Quigley took a lift up the levels on the undercard of Canelo versus Khan.

The manner in which the Donegal overcame what was meant to be a serious test not only raised eyebrows, but instantly raised expectations.

The former World silver medal winner has himself taken confidence from the win over James De La Rose and now feels despite only having 11 pro fights he isn’t too far away from titles.

Indeed, Quigley doesn’t think the idea of fighting World Champion Billy Joe Saunders or current British champion is too far fetched, although he does admit he does have some learning still to do.

“I’m definitely not too far away. I’m a lot closer than I was before my last fight,” Quigley told Sky Sports.

“I’m still 24 years of age and that was my first real step-up. I hadn’t been past four rounds and I really stepped up in class in my opponent and obviously going the 10 rounds.

“You have to careful as well, you cannot rush things and jump the gun. I still have a lot of learning and experience to gain, but I’m definitely getting very close to fights with the likes of Eubank, Saunders, and a title fight. There is still a bit of learning and experience to gain yet.”
