Jamie Cox [20(12)-0] finally returns to the ring tonight in Bolton and he is aiming for a World title within the next twelve months.

The fearsome Swindon-Donegal super middleweight boxes Martin Fidel Rios [20(11)-9(2)-3] on the Steve Wood show at the Bolton Whites Hoel, live on Boxnation TV, in what will be his first fight in almost a year.

‘The Wrecking Machine’ is hoping for a very different forthcoming twelve months and has stated in no uncertain terms that he wants IBF World champion and Olympic gold medalist James Degale [23(14)-1(0)].

Speaking to Boxnation ahead of his comeback clash tonight, 30 year old Cox outlined his desire to face ‘Chunky.’

“James Degale is the best World champion and, for me, I want to fight the best. James Degale would be my ideal, fight the best man.”

“For me it’s about the man [rather than the title], the best man, James Degale, give me James Degale.”

“I sparred with James, it was good work, I don’t like to talk about it, but James knows what I’m about and that’s the main thing.”

The much-avoided Cox also reiterated his willingness to face any of the big names in 168lbs division, and described how “there’s some great fights here in Britain as well, George Groves is one of them, then you’ve Ramirez, Abraham.”

“Like I said before, just pick one, give me the opportunity, let me fight show, and I’ll show everyone. That’s the main thing, just getting the opportunity.”
