It has been confirmed today that Coyle has linked up with Roy Jones Jr and will now fight exclusively under the banner which is affiliated to the UFC Fight Pass platform.

RJJ Boxing chief and co-founder Keith Veltre described how “when I saw Coyle fight this past February 16th I knew we head to have him.”

“He possesses all the assets to make him a future world champion. He doesn’t wait to have the fight come to him, he brings the action to you.”

“He will be a full-time fighter on UFC Fight Pass. You definitely want to keep an eye on Connor.”

Coyle added that “my team and I are very happy to sign with Roy Jones Jr Boxing Promotions. They made us a great offer and it was an amazing experience headlining for them on UFC Fight Pass in February.”

“Fight Pass is a great platform that will only expand our horizons with fans across the globe. We’re excited to see what the future holds, and I look forward to entertaining the fans with every fight.”

The 28-year-old turned pro back in 2016 and is based out of Florida where he trains under Jim McLaughlin – former coach of the legendary Winky Wright.

Coyle’s development was stunted somewhat last year when he contracted Lyme’s Arthritis but ‘The Kid’ has gotten back to full fitness and kicked off his 2019 with the aforementioned points win over Scott.

RJJ Boxing have not released a next fight date for Coyle but it has been indicated that the Foylesider will return on Thursday April 25th at Sam’s Town Casino in Las Vegas.

The Commonwealth Games bronze medallist is currently back home in Derry in the beginnings of camp and has, along with the city’s other pros Tyrone McCullagh and Sean McGlinchey, been campaigning for a pro boxing card to return to the city.
